PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Both of Chicago’s major airports—O’Hare and Midway—are easily accessible by public transportation. The city’s train system, known as the “L” (short for “elevated”), is a reliable, safe, and affordable option for getting downtown. Trains run regularly, and single-ride passes are available for purchase. Google Maps is a helpful tool for navigating the system: simply enter your starting point and destination, then click the transit icon to view route options and train schedules. The standard CTA fare from both airports is $2.50.
From O’Hare Airport:
To travel from O’Hare Airport, board the CTA Blue Line at the O’Hare Station, located underground beneath Terminals 1, 2, and 3. If you arrive at Terminal 5, take the free Airport Transit System (ATS) to Terminal 2 to access the station. Blue Line trains run 24/7 and depart every 2–10 minutes. Ride the train to Jackson Station, which takes approximately 44 minutes. The standard CTA fare is $2.50.From Midway Airport:
To reach Roosevelt University dorm from Midway Airport, board the CTA Orange Line at Midway Station, which is conveniently connected to the airport terminal via a pedestrian walkway. Orange Line trains operate daily and depart approximately every 10 minutes. Ride the train to the "Harold Washington Library." The ride takes about 21 minutes. The fare is $2.50. From that stop, walk 2.5 blocks east to Michigan Avenue, turn left and Symphony Center (220 S. Michigan Ave.) will be on your left. For more information, see: www.transitchicago.com
