The Verona Quartet – 2026 Credo Festival Guest Artists – will perform a faculty concert on July 3rd at 7:30 pm in Kulas Recital Hall, Oberlin Conservatory.

Admission: $10 general; $5 students/seniors

The Verona Quartet is recognized as a premier ensemble of its generation, praised by The New York Times as an “outstanding ensemble… cohesive yet full of temperament.” Recipients of the 2020 Chamber Music America Cleveland Quartet Award and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association’s 2025 Educator Award, the ensemble has earned a reputation for its “bold interpretive strength” (Calgary Herald) and “opulent sonority” (The Strad). The Quartet serves on the faculty of Oberlin College and Conservatory as Quartet-in-Residence and as Artistic Directors of the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance. The ensemble’s rise to international prominence was fueled by a swift succession of top prize wins at Wigmore Hall, Melbourne, Osaka, M-Prize, and Fischoff International Chamber Music Competitions, as well as the 2015 Concert Artists Guild Competition.

The annual Oberlin Messiah Sing Along is coming! It will be Sunday, December 14 at 7:00 pm EST in Finney Chapel, on the Oberlin College campus. Experience the joy of the season with family, friends, and the Oberlin community by singing along with (or just listening to!) your favorite Messiah choruses.

The program, featuring soloists and orchestra from Oberlin Conservatory and Credo, is directed by Credo Artistic Director Peter Slowik.

Admission is free. A free-will offering will be collected to benefit Neighborhood Alliance, which provides many services to our community. Score rental is $5.

Celebrating 25 years, Credo returns home to Chicago for its inaugural season Credo National Festival. Under the baton of Maestro David Chan (New York MET), students from top music schools and conservatories across the country will come together to perform Mahler’s First Symphony, playing side-by-side with titled players from major American orchestras. Credo Artistic Director Peter Slowik (Oberlin Conservatory) will lead a string orchestra in the performance of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.

Finale Concert of the 2024 Credo Oberlin String Quartet Institute will feature the Breshears Quartet (Silver Medal, 2024 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition) and the Maple Quartet (recipient of the Eastman School of Music's Celentano String Quartet Award).

Every year Credo teams with Oberlin Conservatory to present Handel’s Messiah – in the popular sing-along format! This year the Conservatory (Oberlin College Choir, Musical Union, and the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra) will present a full concert version at 2:30 pm on December 10th in Finney Chapel, conducted by Gregory Ristow.

A special sing-along of some of the favorite choruses will take place at 1:30 pm, just before the concert! Experience the joy of the season with family, friends, and the Oberlin community by singing along (or just listening) to Handel's Messiah. Scores will be free to all this year.
