ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

Sunday, June 28:

  • Student Check-In — 2–4 PM

  • Orientation — TBD

Saturday, July 11:

  • Finale Concert — 2-4 PM

  • We prefer students to leave on Saturday night if possible. The program concludes with the Finale Concert from 2-4 PM, so flights should be 6 PM or later. Flights on the morning of the 12th are also acceptable. (Students would have to pay an extra night in the dorm, and there will be staff available to chaperone.)

  • Ground transportation to Symphony Center (220 S. Michigan Ave.)

Directions to Roosevelt University dorm should be similar – it’s just a few blocks away (425 S. Wabash Ave.)

    PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Both of Chicago’s major airports—O’Hare and Midway—are easily accessible by public transportation. The city’s train system, known as the “L” (short for “elevated”), is a reliable, safe, and affordable option for getting downtown. Trains run regularly, and single-ride passes are available for purchase. Google Maps is a helpful tool for navigating the system: simply enter your starting point and destination, then click the transit icon to view route options and train schedules. The standard CTA fare from both airports is $2.50.

    From O’Hare Airport:
To travel from O’Hare Airport, board the CTA Blue Line at the O’Hare Station, located underground beneath Terminals 1, 2, and 3. If you arrive at Terminal 5, take the free Airport Transit System (ATS) to Terminal 2 to access the station. Blue Line trains run 24/7 and depart every 2–10 minutes. Ride the train to Jackson Station, which takes approximately 44 minutes. The standard CTA fare is $2.50.

    From Midway Airport:
To reach Roosevelt University dorm from Midway Airport, board the CTA Orange Line at Midway Station, which is conveniently connected to the airport terminal via a pedestrian walkway. Orange Line trains operate daily and depart approximately every 10 minutes. Ride the train to the "Harold Washington Library." The ride takes about 21 minutes. The fare is $2.50. From that stop, walk 2.5 blocks east to Michigan Avenue, turn left and Symphony Center (220 S. Michigan Ave.) will be on your left.

  • If you are driving, We suggest parking in the nearby Grant Park South underground garage. There are also several other parking options in the area, and you might find the best rates by using a parking app like SpotHero.

FAQ

  • Credo will provide daily snacks and a few special event meals throughout the festival. For other meals, participants may utilize the variety of restaurants and quick options available near campus.

    Important Meal-Time Guidelines:

    • Day Students: If you plan to leave campus for a meal, you must coordinate with the assigned on-site Credo volunteer/parent volunteer. Credo is NOT liable for students who leave campus without proper permission or supervision.

    • Dorm Students (Minors): You are required to check in with Aaron and Alyssa before leaving for lunch. You must travel in groups of at least three at all times when off campus.

  • The daily schedule runs 9–5 each day.

  • Dorm residents should arrive Sunday.

Commuter participants should arrive Monday morning between 8:30–9:15 for registration.

Please see the Arrival/Departure section above for more information.

  • We have two couples with many years of Credo and student supervisory experience. We will share their contact information closer to the time of the program.

String Intensive students will be busy roughly 9-5 each day, and we'll have early curfew hours at the dorm (about 9 PM).

  • The Medical Information sheet in the Registration Packet includes space to mention important details such as allergies and medical conditions. If you would like to share further details or have questions, please contact our staff at national@credomusic.org.

  • While there are no restrictions on cell phone use to take pictures or communicate during breaks in the schedule, we strongly encourage students to take full advantage of the special blessings available to them in person at Credo.

  • Parents can volunteer to help with ANY part of Credo. Please contact chicago@credomusic.org to volunteer. We'll need the most help with:

    1) July 17 - all day (service day)

    2) July 19 - concert day

    3) July 13 and 14 - check-in days
